David Harold Poss (Retired LTC U. S. Army), 92, a long-time resident of Walton County, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 in Augusta. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Frances Ruby Poss of Augusta; sons and daughters-in-law, David H., II and Paula Poss of Martinez, Steven D. and Bette Poss of Newnan; daughter-in-law, Sue H. Poss of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Benjamin Poss and Angela of Asheville NC, Daniel Poss of Augusta, Laura Poss of Thomasville, Kathryn Poss and David M. Poss of Newnan; great grandchildren, Wiley and Ashley Poss of Ashville, NC. He was preceded in death by his son, the late Robert C. Poss of Greenville, SC.
Retired after 27 years in the U.S. Army, Mr. Poss later retired from Amoco Chemicals., Monroe GA. He was an active member of the Monroe First Christian Church.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at the First Christian Church, Monroe, GA. Interment followed at the Good Hope Christian Church Cemetery.
